Plastics

Plastic supports greater fuel efficiency through the use of lightweight material applications while also increasing the opportunity for recycling of material. HTA coordinates the supply of high-quality resins including polypropylene, ABS and polyethylene for Honda and its suppliers.

Currently, 30 percent (nearly 10 million pounds) of our plastic supply is used in-house by Honda facilities, while 70 percent is used by Honda suppliers to produce parts for Honda products.

• Interior and exterior trim components

Here's how it works:

• Honda Trading determines how much plastic will be needed by its customers - including both Honda Manufacturing and Honda's plastic parts suppliers.


• HTA consolidates the orders based on the various stringent requirements for quality Honda products and then works with Honda-approved resin makers, who produce the appropriate materials for use by HTA's customers.


• HTA then performs quality assurance checks and processes the orders, guaranteeing just-in-time delivery for its customers.
